Friends of the Public Market is hiring for an Operations Coordinator!

Friends of the Rochester Public Market has an opening for a part-time Operations Coordinator working on-site at the
Rochester, NY Public Market. The Operations Coordinator will provide high-level administrative direction, management, and coordination for Friends’ operations as well as within the Finance, Human Resources, and Information Technology areas. This position will work closely with the Friends’ Board President and Token Center Manager to ensure that functional area’s best practice recommendations are implemented in accordance with established timeframes. The Operations Coordinator is an internal and external customer service position working to support administrative and programming efforts.

This is a part-time, contract position, scheduled to work 10-15 hours per week. Pay starts at $18/ hour and may vary based on experience. Remote work is partially available for this position.

● Associate’s Degree in Business or related field with 5 years of progressive experience.
● Experience in with non-profit setting is preferred.
● Demonstrated, proven experience and expertise relevant to the role of the position.
● Attend quarterly board meetings, NYCON or other tabling events to assist the board.
● Ability to work hours of the Public Market, Tuesday, Thursdays, and Saturdays and flexible to work special
● Ability to clearly communicate (speak, read, and write proficiently) in English. A second language is a plus.
● Ability to learn or prior experience with Square, Squarespace, and Jotform.
● Demonstrated familiarity with office management procedures and basic accounting.

  • Demonstrated ability to create, use, and maintain complex and unique databases of information
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or
    schedule form.
  • Ability to prepare and maintain accurate, error-free financial and statistical records.
  • Ability to ensure confidentiality of information relating to sensitive financial and personnel matters at all
  • Ability to organize, manage, and prioritize multiple tasks, deadlines, requirements, and priorities to
    complete work in a timely manner and within established deadlines.
  • Ability to work cooperatively, establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Ability and willingness to work with a high degree of integrity, accuracy, organization, and sound
    professional judgment to effectively relate to people in order to accomplish goals.
