Taproot Summer Job Opportunities – Youth and Adult

Peer Leader Intern – We have started a youth leaders team to help with organizational planning for this summer’s program. We may be able to include up to two more interns for that group (age 16-17). Interested youth should also apply through RochesterWorks, using the same link and choosing the “After School Employment Program” option.

Site Supervisor – Persons in this position need to have prior experience in youth development and behavioral management of diverse groups. They will be the lead organizers for teams of about 10-12 youth and young adult interns working in outdoor community garden settings. They will be responsible for daily operations of their assigned sites. Site Supervisors will be in regular contact with our Youth Employment Program Manager to communicate any supports needed to operate their sites effectively.

Team Leader Intern – This is a paid internship for a young adult (18+) interested in developing their leadership and youth development skills. Team Leaders will support supervisory staff in project implementation, maintaining youth engagement and safety, and will learn gardening and construction skills through hands-on work alongside youth interns.

UA/Organic Landscaping Intern – position open to 14 and 15 year olds, July 8 – August 16. Positions available to income-qualified youth in Monroe County. Youth must apply first to the RochesterWorks Summer Youth Employment Program. Encourage young people you know to fill out the SYEP online form (choose “Summer Youth Program”). Interested youth should rank landscaping/horticulture higher on their interests to increase the chances of their application being forwarded to us.
